Join us in London!

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are looking forward to welcoming you all, on behalf of ECVO, to our 2014 Annual Scientific Meeting in London, the historic capital city of the UK and one of the world’s great cities.

This year the central theme of our scientific programme will be ocular surgery. Our Scientific Committee has worked hard to ensure that we will have yet another exciting, high-level programme, including continuing education on Thursday, a State of the Art lecture during our main programme and a Sunday master class including a hands-on, practical lab. We have assembled an impressive roster of international speakers with expertise in ocular surgery. Together, they will provide a comprehensive overview of the surgical management of ocular disease. Our commercial exhibition and the number and quality of oral and poster presentations by our delegates will ensure that our meeting provides everyone with an interest in veterinary ophthalmology with an exceptionally high-quality conference experience. We will be looking to you for YOUR contribution to the success of the scientific program and we hope that you will consider submitting an abstract, as well as making our speakers, sponsors and exhibitors welcome. In addition, the British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists will be hosting a satellite meeting prior to the ECVO meeting, providing an excellent excuse for an extended visit to London in 2014!

Our Planning Committee, together with our conference organizers (CSM), has selected a wonderful venue for the 2014 meeting. Our London venue, centrally located close to the banks of the River Thames, is ideally positioned for sightseeing with iconic landmarks like the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace within easy reach. This year, social events will include an ECVO welcome reception at One Great George Street, in the heart of Westminster, and a convivial evening with dinner, live music, dancing and “special events” at Shakespeare’s Globe, an authentic reconstruction of the original venue made famous by Shakespeare’s playing company. Come and enjoy London’s rich and varied culture, history and gastronomy, and a Great British and ECVO welcome!

We look forward to seeing you in London in May!
